Right of a girl’s child

11th of October is a day as a young lady you should never forget. It is called the International day of girl child. It is celebrated every year by Girlchild and the beautiful Theme for this year is “OUR TIME IS NOW, OUR RIGHT, OUR FUTURE”. Looking no at the theme, you will know that this theme is talking to young girls to stand up for their rights.
We had a seminar that was held here at Kaduna polytechnic and the host of the program was Comr. Rukayyah .K. Usman the women Leader of Mass Communication Department and Chief Host Dr. Gambo Ibrahim H.O.D Department of Mass Communication. The guests are Dr. Mrs. Fatima, Dr. Comfort Madu, and Mallam Sanusi Rufia with other speakers to enlighten us more about girl child.
Before saying something that was said at the event, a little word from the few girls whom I interviewed.
My name is Hassana. I’m 12 years old, and I’m in primary 4 but the school I attend is Hausa base, we are up to 20 in my family, and both the boys join us to sell Soyabean cake after we close from school.
My name is Aisha, I’m 12 years old, I’m in primary 4 but the school I attend speaks only Hausa, in my family, we are up to 10 children both boys and girls and they join us to sell after we close from school.
The last statement that cut my attention is that they want us to teach them how to speak English.

Mallam Sanusi said this….
Having the opportunity to deal with diseases is not an easy one, but if they can be educated more, it will help them deal with these diseases.
Looking at women in qgeneral, visiting hospitals. explaining more about visiting these young ones and educating them and showing that you care.
Lack of education (speaking only Hausa).
Protection.
Good nutrition.
Right that we have an as young girl.
Marriage of a girl child below age 18 is a crime.
Tattoos.
Finally, he said that a girl child should be protected

Speaking she asked a question, What are we doing to make a difference, that the NGO is empowered you so you can empower these young girls?
Adding to her statement she said as good as it is to hold seminars in urban settlement, it is more important that we educate the girls in the rural area because they obviously need this education more.
A good number of girl child suffers sexual Abuse etc.
Dr. Comfort gave her history, and how she never gave up…
Telling us never to limit ourselves we should also
learn a profitable skill.
The last speaker
Spoke about good hygiene and the benefits to a girl child.
Finally I will conclude with this.As a girl child don’t limit yourself.
