According to the Punch,a State’s Chief Magistrates Court that is situated in Akure, the capital city of Ondo state, has allegedly given a go-ahead for a defendant,who proclaimed himself to be a pastor named Samuel Alade-Emin to be Imprisoned after being found culpable for the untimely demise of one of his church attendants.Following the information that was acquired by newsmen, the whereabouts of deceased person was actually unknown for approximately week before his remains was traced to the village of the self-acclaimed pastor,which is located in Alagbado located in the Odigbo Local Government Area LGA of the state about three months ago, precisely in the month of august.Olasupo Abiona was given as the deceased’s identified, and it was noted that his mother was a respected attendant of the accused’s church.However,it was also unraveled that the deceased gave up the ghost at a medical facility (name undisclosed) after ingesting a deadly concoctionhanded over to him by the accused.At the end of the day,the pastor met his waterloo and was taken into custody security authorities and arraigned in court.The accused appeared before the judge to be prosecuted on two-count allegations, which were bothering on murder and hindrance to freedom.On the other hand,the police prosecuting attorney, Nelson Akintimehin, notified the court that the accused intentionally confined the deceased against his will,a son of one of the church leaders.Narratively,Akintimehin recalled that, the accused gave the deceased a substance believed to be poison, which made the deceased start vomiting blood,until he drew his last breath.Furthermore, the above-mentioned acts by the accused are evidently in violation of sections 365 and 316(5) of the Criminal Law of Ondo State, which was enacted in 2006,as claimed by the prosecuting attorney.On the contrary,the accused,debunked all allegation leveled against him,but anyways,his assertions were not taken into consideration.Although,Akintimehin urged the court to remand the accused at the correctional facility until the director of public prosecutions for the state react to the case.Meanwhile,A. Motunrayo, who represented the defendant, pleaded with the judge to release her client on bail under the most lenient conditions possible while emphasizing that the accused has nothing to do with the death of the deceased.Decisively,in his ruling,Musa Al-Yunus, the Chief Magistrate,issued a directive for the accused to remain imprisoned until words are gotten from the state’s director of public prosecutions regarding the case,after which he postponed the next hearing to Thursday,9th February 2023.From Opera NewsContent created and supplied by News Hub Creator .
